Appointment workspace
Tenant Admins, Branch Managers, and Service Advisors use Appointment list and Calendar for scheduling. Check in a walk-in appears when the role can create walk-ins; intake first prepares the appointment and then offers its next check-in step.
The list opens on Today, with 25 appointments per page. Choose a different date with Previous or Next day or the date field; Return to today restores the current day. Today includes every appointment status on the selected date. The other periods answer different questions:
- Upcoming shows open bookings after the reference date.
- Past unresolved shows open bookings before it, including outstanding requests or reschedule decisions. Checked-in appointments are handled through their repair orders instead.
- History shows completed, cancelled and no-show bookings from all dates, newest first.
- All bookings includes both current and historical work.
Dates use the effective rescheduled time before the confirmed or requested time, converted to each branch’s timezone. The default date comes from the selected branch; a combined branch view shows its reference timezone. Check this context before interpreting work close to midnight.
Search plate, customer or service text and filter status or branch, then apply the filters. Search covers all matching permitted appointments, including later pages. Choose 10, 25, 50 or 100 records per page and read the visible range and total. Filters, date and pagination survive navigation to a detail and back. A filtered-empty result offers Clear filters; an empty today can lead to upcoming bookings or a permitted walk-in.
The read-only Calendar shows complete matching monthly booking counts and a paginated selected-day agenda. These counts are not capacity or available-slot claims. The agenda uses its selected day, while returning to Appointment list restores the list period. There is no drag-and-drop or implied realtime behavior. Check the manual update time and refresh before coordinating a current handoff. If customer, vehicle, branch or service identity cannot be verified, Motornauts does not replace it with an internal identifier. Appointment actions require both the current state and the signed-in user’s capability, and the protected API checks each action again.
After the linked Repair Order is delivered, an authorized staff member can mark its checked-in appointment complete from the appointment detail. Motornauts locks and verifies the appointment and Repair Order together, records the completion and audit event atomically, and returns the existing completed result for an exact retry. An appointment cannot be completed merely because the vehicle is ready for pickup.
Technician work queue and inspection
My Jobs does not calculate priority in the browser. The protected API supplies the complete ordered Now, Next, and Blocked groups for the signed-in Technician’s current branch assignments. Now is active work, Next is assigned work waiting to start, and Blocked is limited to recorded customer- approval or parts states. The queue shows a manual generated time and refresh action; it does not claim realtime updates.
The inspection workspace uses the vehicle plate as its human anchor and a gauge for completed checks. Overview owns start/submission, Checklist owns recorded checks, Findings separates whole-inspection evidence from evidence attached to a specific finding, and Documents owns the inspection PDF. A received upload remains private and pending safety verification until its media state becomes available. Submitted inspections are locked, including media upload controls. Every read, upload, mutation, and transition remains checked by the protected API even when a control is hidden or unavailable.
Workshop progression from initial inspection requires the assigned Technician’s submitted inspection; a started or different Technician’s inspection is not handoff evidence. Starting the same Repair Order concurrently returns its one current started inspection without duplicating the customer timeline or audit event. Refresh after a stale or conflicting action before continuing.
