Inventory Issue and Return
This scenario keeps parts movement auditable.
Issue parts
- Inventory Manager opens the inventory workspace.
- Open Repair Orders and search by the visible repair-order reference, plate, or customer context available to your role.
- Select the matching human repair-order result; do not copy an ID from the URL.
- Check the selected branch and current issued-parts state.
- Open Issue a part to this job, then select part and quantity.
- Submit the issue.
- Confirm stock level decreased and repair order shows issued parts.
Return unused parts
- Reopen the repair order through the Inventory search.
- Select the eligible issued-part entry by part name and issued quantity.
- Enter return quantity and reason.
- Submit the return.
- Confirm stock level and repair-order parts state updated.
A direct return is blocked once the repair order is ready for pickup, delivered, cancelled, or has a non-void invoice. Motornauts checks that state again when the return commits, so a concurrent invoice or status change can reject an otherwise valid form without changing stock. Refresh the repair order and use the approved adjustment or invoice-credit process instead of retrying a direct return.
If the browser loses the response after you submit an issue or return, retry the unchanged form. Motornauts returns the already committed movement without issuing or returning the stock twice and without creating a duplicate audit entry. If you changed quantity, reason, part, or Repair Order, refresh first so the form starts a new submission intent. A changed request cannot reuse the old submission key.
Do not edit old movement history to hide a mistake. Use an adjustment or return with a reason. If the action succeeds, the workspace returns to the same selected job. If it fails, your expanded form and entries stay in place. Follow the error guidance; refresh and review the latest stock or job when it reports a conflicting change. Do not paste technical diagnostics into the reason field.
