Repair-order workspace
Tenant Admins, Branch Managers, and Service Advisors use Repair orders to find service work. Verify the plate, repair-order reference, customer, vehicle, status, technician, and branch before making a change. One vehicle can have several visits; use the repair-order reference to distinguish which job the customer is asking about.
Find a job
The queue opens with Active jobs, 25 at a time, ordered by Longest in stage first. Active includes jobs awaiting check-in and unfinished work from earlier days, including ready-for-pickup jobs. Delivered and cancelled work remains available in History or All jobs.
Use Find a job to search by plate, repair-order reference, make, or model. Search covers matching records across the complete permitted queue, including later pages. Choose a branch and Queue, then Apply filters. Approval & parts review collects recorded customer-approval and parts waits; it does not imply that a follow-up is overdue. The queue selector also offers Intake, Awaiting approval, Work, Waiting for parts, Quality & wash, and Ready for pickup.
Each row shows the stage, when it began, branch, technician, and relevant next action. Review approval opens Work & estimates; Review handover opens Billing & handoff. The visible range and total distinguish the current page from all matches. Change Jobs per page or use pagination for the rest. Clear filters recovers from a narrow search; if the current page no longer exists, return to the first page.
Filters, sorting and pagination stay in the URL. The detail’s Back link returns to its originating queue. Reloading or using browser Back preserves the selected detail section; another staff member still needs their own permission to use a copied link.
Choose the relevant section
- Overview starts with readable job facts, complaint/damage notes and technician assignment. Open Edit job facts for changes. Fuel uses a tank-level selector instead of internal values.
- Work & estimates leads with the current estimate, line decisions and sent time. Older estimates remain under Earlier versions.
- Billing & handoff contains invoices and the explicit delivery confirmation when the current workflow permits it.
- Timeline shows recorded events and whether live updates are connected or paused.
- Documents shows safe generation/download state for estimate and service-history PDFs.
Review or revise an estimate
Review the current version and its accepted, declined, and pending line decisions before creating more work. A staff review does not decide approval on the customer’s behalf. A send action remains available only after the technician has submitted the inspection and the job is ready for approval. If another inspection is in progress, finish and submit it first. Sending makes the estimate available in the customer portal and creates an approval notification.
When an estimate already exists, a revision starts from its existing lines. Add or remove the necessary lines and save a new draft; previous versions remain readable. Creation is the starting action when no estimate exists. Historical versions cannot be sent or used as the current approval. Delivered and cancelled jobs do not offer an estimate as the main next action.
If Recorded amounts need review appears, the saved totals do not match the line quantities, prices or adjustments. Motornauts retains those recorded amounts as history. Review the inputs before revising: the new draft recalculates its totals and may differ from the earlier version.
Choose Labor, Part, Service, Diagnostic, or Other and mark each line Required
or Recommended. Enter normal currency amounts: for LKR, 2,500.00 means LKR 2,500.00. Quantity
is a whole number, and discount is an amount for the line. Read the line and estimate totals before
saving; invalid or out-of-range values must be corrected.
Choose No tax, Calculate from percentage, or Fixed tax amount deliberately. Percentage tax is calculated on the line after discount and rounded once for that line. A fixed amount remains an entered amount; an existing reference rate is preserved when revising it. Follow your workshop’s approved tax treatment; the form does not choose the applicable tax rate for you.
When something is unavailable
Motornauts omits tabs and actions that do not apply to the signed-in role. Every read and change is still checked by the protected API. If one secondary section cannot load, verify the stable job header and retry that section. An unavailable panel does not mean there are no estimates, invoices, events, assignments or documents. If the job identity itself is unavailable, refresh and resolve access before making changes.
