Technician Inspection

Technicians work on assigned vehicles in My jobs. Use Now, Next, and Blocked to prioritize work, and choose Refresh for the latest changes. Search by plate, job reference, vehicle or service; search includes jobs below the collapsed preview. While searching, only priority groups with matches are shown. Clear the search to restore the full overview. A draft inspection keeps the submission warning beside Submit for advisor review.

Steps

  1. Open My jobs from the labeled sidebar, or use the header navigation menu on a smaller screen.
  2. Select the plate-anchored vehicle in Now or Next. A Blocked row has no work action.
  3. Verify the plate, vehicle, service, customer concern and any quality-check rework instructions.
  4. In Overview, choose Start inspection for a checked-in vehicle. This opens the inspection and copies the service’s saved checklist. If no checklist is configured, add the checks needed.
  5. In Checklist, update each check and save it once. You stay on Checklist at the saved row. Saving one row keeps other unsaved checks, findings and selected files. Failed saves keep your entered status and note so you can correct the problem and retry.
  6. In Findings, record factual notes and whether each finding is customer-visible or internal.
  7. In Inspection photos and documents, upload an approved photo/document that describes the inspection as a whole. Use a finding’s own uploader only when the file supports that finding.
  8. A successful transfer is shown as received and pending safety verification; do not describe it as customer-available until the media state becomes Available. Video stays unavailable when its safety gate is not ready.
  9. Return to Overview and submit. Submission locks the checklist, findings, and upload controls.
  10. Use Documents to generate or download the inspection PDF when available.
  11. After the customer’s approval is recorded, choose the available Next step, such as Start or resume work or Send for quality check. The submit button names that action.

Use the My jobs back link to return from an inspection. The four numbered steps stay within the assigned vehicle; changing steps does not submit the inspection or advance the repair-order status. Unsaved entries stay only while this inspection remains open for your signed-in account. Save or upload them before leaving the inspection, signing out or reloading the browser. A successful save clears only that form’s draft; it does not save your other entries.

Media guidance

Photos and videos are private media. Upload controls should use Motornauts-managed private access. Use Inspection photos and documents for general walkaround files. Attach a file to a finding when it explains that particular issue. A failed finding save keeps its note, severity and audience. Inspection videos are currently unavailable because video safety processing is not implemented. Use photos or documents. A saved upload preference or review approval cannot make video available.

If the assignment or inspection cannot be verified, stop editing and return to My Jobs. Ask a Branch Manager to check branch assignment, or a Service Advisor to check the Repair Order state. If an inspection start was interrupted, refresh and choose Start inspection again. It resumes the same job without adding another checklist to an inspection already started.
