Branch Manager Onboarding

Role focus

Branch Managers oversee a service-center branch, coordinate staff workload, watch service flow, review blockers, and use reports to keep daily operations moving.

What you need

Confirm your staff login, branch scope, dashboard access, report access, and which optional roles or modules are active at the branch.

First login and workspace orientation

Find your work areas in the grouped, labeled sidebar. On a smaller screen, open the header navigation menu; it contains the same permitted destinations. Check the tenant and branch scope before starting work, and use the breadcrumbs to return from a detail page. Account contains appearance controls and Log out. Daily workshop destinations appear before Management and Administration; unavailable role destinations are omitted.

Start from Today’s work. Select your branch, review Approval & parts review, then choose another stage or search a plate/reference. Check the manual update time and refresh before a handoff. The optional board provides stage previews with complete-queue links. Learn Appointments, Repair orders, Invoices, Payments, Inventory, Fleet, Feedback and Reports as available to your role. For each job, identify its recorded state and the person responsible for the next action.

First steps

  1. Review today’s bookings, walk-ins, no-shows, and the Intake column.
  2. Check unassigned or overloaded technician work.
  3. Look for estimate approvals waiting on customers or fleet users.
  4. Open the plate-anchored repair order, verify its object header, and check the Billing & handoff or Documents tab for payment, invoice, or document blockers.
  5. Confirm Cashier and Quality Controller fallback owners if those roles are disabled.
  6. Confirm who reviews the standalone payment-request queue and reconciliation warnings for each branch; link renewal revokes the old link but does not send a customer notification.
  7. Review delivery candidates and post-delivery feedback readiness.
  8. Review repair orders marked waiting for parts; use Inventory for actual stock detail rather than inferring a shortage from the board.
  9. Use reports to spot service-time, revenue, or no-show trends.
  10. Use the customer and vehicle 360 pages to confirm the contact, plate, current owner, verification, and document state before resolving an intake mismatch.

Typical workflow

Run the branch by queues and handoffs: intake, check-in, inspection, approval, work execution, billing, QC, delivery, and feedback. Keep staff focused on the next owner rather than searching through unrelated screens.

When to ask for help

Escalate tenant-wide setup gaps to Tenant Admin. Keep Service Advisors aligned on intake and customer communication. Coordinate Technician assignments and Inventory Manager parts blockers. Use Cashier and Quality Controller when enabled, otherwise name the fallback owner.

Safe use

Do use branch-scoped reports and auditable decisions. Do not use reports as a reason to bypass permissions, customer approvals, payment states, or inventory movement history.

Example

Find one checked-in vehicle waiting on inspection, one repair order waiting on approval, and one delivery candidate. Identify the current owner and the next action for each.
